I have read some Christian men ask ...

 Why can't I stop sinning ???

the following reply may be of assistance

Galations 5 (TNIV – exclusions/additions mine)
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. ..

. But by faith we eagerly await through the Spirit the righteousness for which we hope. ...

The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love. ...
You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free.

But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbour as yourself.” If you keep on biting and devouring each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature. For the sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
The acts (~ aka fruit/works) of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatory and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
But the fruit (~ aka acts/works) of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying one another.

So how do we live this Spirit life? By:
- humbling ourselves before God in prayer
- humbling ourselves before God in His Word
- acknowledging our place with God is that of humility/submission/surrender
- renewing our heart and mind with His Word, in Light, Truth and Spirit, meditating in it day and night (like Joshua and King David)
- speaking God’s Word of Light and Truth over/in/through our life (to create not just direction and hope, but also faith and life (as opposed to fear and death))
- keeping watch over our mouth and what we speak, being aware of what we are agreeing and aligning ourselves with (ie speaking over/in/through our life, and lives of others)
- keeping our eyes/focus on Him
- knowing ourselves and our enemy/ies
- knowing our heart (as it too can be deceived)
- being ruthless in destroying all idols in our dominion (like God directed kings of Israel/Judah in OT)
- being thankful, rejoicing always
- pursuing love
- pursuing the fruit and gifts of the Spirit
- expressing faith, fruit and gifts through love (as in 1 Cor 13)
- denying ourselfves and taking up our cross
- glorifying and worshiping God
- blessing/forgiving those who curse/hurt us
